He said what...?

While playing outside at school last week, Kevin's teacher was trying to get his attention. He and a few other kids were playing in a pile of dirt under a tree (apparently this isn't allowed because some parents don't like to pick up their kids covered in dirt). The teacher said "Kevin, you aren't listening to me, no playing in the dirt. Kevin, put on your listening ears". Kevin's response: "They don't have any batteries" (as he covered his ears with his muddy hands). I have no idea how he came up with that response!


We spent the weekend indoors relaxing & hiding from the rain. Nate installed the baby carseat, I finally packed a bag for the hospital, we are ready!

3 year check up

I took Kevin for his 3 year checkup yesterday. He had fun playing with the doctor's stethoscope, listening to his own heart and the baby in my tummy. We were all proud to talk about Kevin's potty training progress (going very well, but kind of hectic while he's at school).

His stats:

36 pounds
38 inches tall

The doctor was wonderful with him and reminded me that the preschool years were his favorite years with his children - all they want to do is play & explore, they strive for constant fun & learning new things. He reminded me to enjoy this phase of Kevin's life as much as possible before he gets older and busy with school activities and I become his private chauffeur. Good advice.

Baby news.... still pregnant.... all is well and we are holding out for my scheduled c-section on May 5th at 7:00 AM. That would be in 15 days for those who don't keep count like I do!

Baby update

My doctor estimated that the baby will be about 8 to 8.5 pounds. Sounds good to me!

Happy Easter, Happy Birthday

Yesterday was another busy day; it was Kevin's birthday and Easter. The day started with Kevin finding his Easter basket before we went to church.

After church it was time to celebrate Kevin's birthday, again!

We had a great time celebrating Kevin's 3rd birthday on Saturday. Thanks to everyone who came to play and for the gifts.


Now, it's time for Easter and Kevin's actual birthday (there was a lot of excitement & candy this weekend)....

Our neighborhood hosted an egg hunt on Saturday morning. Kevin had fun collecting lots of blue eggs.
