2-year milestone

Kevin is moving from the toddler classroom to the 2-year old room on Monday! For the past few weeks he has been playing & napping with the 2 year olds. He loves his new classroom. They have tons of big kid toys including a train set and art station. His new teacher tells me that Kevin's favorite thing to do at school is wash his hands! They have a mini sink (about 2 feet off the ground) next to the mini potty. So cute!

Road trip, but we forgot our camera

We took a roadtrip to Chicago last weekend. Kevin was awesome in the car! For now, he has no idea that other kids his age travel with portable DVD players. He took a nap part of the time and counted back-hoe loaders for the rest of the trip! Thank goodness for the high volume of construction equipment on I-88 (never thought I would say that!)

Friday night we all stayed with Nicole & Joe. Kevin had so much fun chasing after their 2 cats. He slept well there too, we were not sure if he would still tolerate his pack&play. He was so tired after the day's activities that he went to bed fairly easy. Saturday morning Kevin & Uncle Joe had a pancake eating contest; Kevin won!

Saturday afternoon we met Grandmom & Grandpop. They watched Kevin on Saturday night while Nate and I enjoyed a great dinner at one of our favorite French restaurants in the City. It was really nice to visit our old neighborhood and meet up with good friends.

... Now back at home, no more traveling for any of us for a few weeks. We are working hard to finish painting before our furniture comes in a few weeks....

Heartbreaker

Kevin wore his new valentine shirt to school on Friday. I was trying to get a picture of it, this is the best I could do. He's going to be a heartbreaker!

Right place, right time

We were in the right place, at the exact right time on Sunday. A normal trip to the grocery store got very exciting when a fire engine showed up. (Don't worry, there was no emergency). Kevin was given a fire hat & badge from our local fire department. He sure was proud of his new hat (he wore it to school today).

"Outside"

We played outside as much as possible this weekend. Kevin loved the chance to play in the yard. To our surprise, he was still willing to sit in the stroller so we took him for a jog with us too. Sunday morning when Kevin woke up, the first thing he did was find his hat and ask if he could go outside.

First "official" haircut

I have tried, for the past few months or so, to cut Kevin's hair myself. It's not easy, he never sits still. Saturday we took him for his first haircut. He did great, he sat in the chair playing with Nate's cellphone most of the time. He never cried!

Numbers & Letters

Kevin can count to five!
It sounds a lot like this: "wun, too, free, fur, fie" It's very cute, we will try our hardest to get him to do it on video this weekend :) He also knows quite a few letters. His favorite one right now is "W", which sounds a lot like "dubba".
