10 months is a FUN age!

10 months old today, it's hard to believe it! Kevin is so much fun, laughing, kicking his legs all.the.time. Seriously, his teachers tell me they have never seen a baby kick their legs so much, or so hard. We have learned to stay back, he can kick really hard! I would be worried about this if Kevin wasn't such a happy kid. Not crawling yet, but very, very close. He can move himself around in circles on the floor. If he sees a toy he wants, he will roll & scoot until he gets there. Nate & I should be happy with this, it's only a matter of a short time before craziness in our little condo breaks loose.


A 10 month old's resume:
Favorite foods: yo-baby, cheese, peaches, cheerios, macaronni, bananas
Least favorite foods: anything that mommy makes from scratch & tries to feed Kevin (caution - gagging & vomitting usually occur).
Favorite toys: stackable rings (very fun to bang together), "what's inside" box, & any ball
Words: ma-ma & da-da (but no idea he's talking to us!)
Accomplishments: plays peek-a-boo by himself! He pulls his hands over his face, then laughs and takes them away!

Happy Birthday Grandmom. We had a family Super Bowl party yesterday to celebrate Grandmom's birthday.

Kevin was really excited to go to school today. I hope this enthusiasm lasts throughout his childhood.

Snow day

Friday was a snow day! Usually on Fridays I am home from work so we meet up with the other mom's & babies in the afternoon. But, Thursday night, Chicago was hit with a big storm so we stayed home all day. Boy, I am sure glad I didn't have to go to work! I tried to convince Shari, Joe, Nicole & Nate to play hookie & enjoy the snow day with me & Kev, but they had work to do. Too bad for them, but fun for me & Kevin.


Of all his toys, this Quaker canister seems to be his favorite lately. He likes to watch it roll across the floor.

We went out for lunch today! We were excited to leave the house!

9 month doctor visit

Kevin's 9 month doctor visit was this morning. He only had to get 1 shot, that was a relief, because he had to get 5 at his 6 month appointment! Kevin is officially "above average". Both his weight & height are in the 75th percentile. We were happy to hear his weight gain has slowed down a bit, he is no longer in the 99th percentile.

Here are his stats:
22.5 pounds
29.25 inches

BTW... it is unbelievably cold here this weekend. We will be spending the weekend inside, so I will post some more pictures of him playing soon. And, after his nap, Nate & I plan to start The Kevin Stone Crawling Clinic. Kevin is getting closer & closer each day and we are convinced he will do it over this long weekend. I hope so! We would be devistated if he decides to crawl for the first time at school, instead of at home.

Kevin is still learning to crawl. By learning, I mean he attempts to take one step forward and falls on his tummy. It must be very frustrating to be 9 months old! At yesterdays Mom's group Kevin tumbled onto his friend Blythe. We all had a good laugh :)

Kev is 9 months old today. He is a joy. At 9 months Kevin is showing us more & more of us unique personality. He is very, very curious and sometimes very serious. Still no crawling, but he is getting close. Just this week he figured out how to move from sitting up, to laying down, then roll over and move to all fours. Getting close! Kevin is trying new foods all the time. His favorites include any fruit and cheerios! He is still a rock-star sleeper. Bedtime is at 6:30 and he will sleep to about 7:00.

Each night Nate & I remind ourselves that we are so blessed to have such a happy, healthy baby.

Kevin was lucky enough to attend his first NYE party with this Grandparents and the neighbors. Lucky for everyone, Kevin went to sleep upstairs at 8:30! Nate and I enjoyed a nice dinner out and champagne with good friends.


Before we left Grandmom & Grandpop's house, Kevin had to play with his big toy again (ie - it's a big toy, so we leave it at Grandmom's house). He loves to scoot this across the floor, but still will not crawl. Normally when we pull out the camera, Kevin knows to smile. Now, he thinks it's funny to close his eyes. He is such a silly kid, we are laughing all the time!
